Entries to Championship events over the past 3 seasons.
Some Key Points:
Prescott entries have remained very stable at around 26 to 28 per round.
Events outside the 'midlands' - Prescott / Shelsey / Loton / Curborough - not being well supported at all.
Plenty of people just do the Prescott / Shelsey / Loton events - ie: Midland Hillclimb Championship venues.
Sprints nowhere near as popular as hillclimbs.
Saloon entries are declining year on year.
Single seaters appear stable.
Sportscars class very healthy.
Poor timing of Goodwood event in 2013 led to only 1 car (well done Austin!) - it was reasonably healthy in 2011 & 2012.
2013 total entries = 168 meeting entries by registered competitors = 16.8 entries per event on average
2012 = 214 entries = 16.4 per event (there were more events)
2011 = 174 entries = 17.4 per event
From these numbers the championship numbers look healthy and sustainable.
It looks like the meeting 'mix' and venues need to be examined and how to bring in more saloon cars.
