My love of cars started at four years of age when playing in the sand pit with my dinky toys!!
Roll on to the early sixties and I managed to persuade my father to take me to Brands Hatch to watch the “Motor Six Hour “ Touring/Saloon car race. The seed was planted!!
In the mid Sixties I bought my first car, a Mini.
I joined two local motor clubs and started marshalling on PCT’s, Rallies, Sprints, Hillclimbs and Autocross. In 1968 I went to Prescott.
I also followed Saloon car racing and attended all the Tourist Trophy European touring car races at Silverstone throughout the late sixties and seventies.
The racing and the group 2 cars were Epic!! I was won over by the works Alfas giving the Escorts a good hiding!!
At this point I competed in PCT’s using Mini Estate, Imps and finally a Nova.
Moving on to 2000 and wanting a change I got the Alfa GTV and competed in Historic class and then the Classic Hillclimb Championship.
In the last 3 or 4 years I have used a Mini Estate and a Cooper S Replica and have enjoyed every moment.
It is an ultra competitive and socially strong championship.
