The popular Members meeting attracted a bumper entry across the three BOC / Henney's championship classes. Good weather for the preceeding two weeks had left the venue looking beautiful. Great paddock positioning for the series cars plus some fierce but friendly competition also helped to make it a day to remember.
A field of 23 entries looked fantastic and attracted many positive comments. Fastest on scratch times was the usual pacesetter Ian Moss in his Escort Mk1 BDG. Garry Cox (Scimitar) was next with a new PB, although not as fast as his second practice run that he couldnt match come the afternoon. Third was Iain Daniels, guest driving in John Louch's Scimitar GTE. Best on Handicap was series sponsor Mike Henney in his Lotus Cortina from Graham Hill in the Mini that always looks a real handful - so much so that he ended in the Pardon gravel on the final timed run! , Third was Iain Daniels. Spectator comments hinted that Tim Brook in the lovely red Mini circuit race car had a very hairy two wheels moment after an Orchard corner part spin. Glad there were no major problems apart perhaps from some new underwear!.
Slightly less well supported (but still with 10 runners) was the sports car class. Fastest was Philip Stader giving the new MGB V8 its Prescott debut. Second was Steve Phennah in the MGB roadster followed by John Newton in the Sprite - now repaired after its paddock incident at the first Prescott. First on handicap was Yvette Stader co-driving with husband Philip in the MGB V8, second was Mike Fisher (another MBG!) followed by Steve Phennah (another MGB!).

Occupying prime position in the lower paddock was a great field of 17 runners in this class. Fastest on scratch times went to Mike Bainbridge in his Ensign, second was Andy Tippett in the Brabham V8 followed closely by Peter Thurston in his immaculate early Mallock.Handicap was also won my Mike, followed by Phil Fisher (Mallock) who is having a great second season in this car, third was Grant Cratchley - a great time as Grant hasnt been out in this car much of late.
