Round 11 - Prescott

Round 11 of the series saw the Classic Championship back at Prescott Hillclimb starring alongside the British Hillclimb Championship.

A very good entry of cars were present, possibly only missing 3 or 4 contenders from the registered runners.

Saturday's two practice sessions saw some fairly steady times as the track cleaned up with repeated use. The weather was good , reasonably warm & pleasant but often overcast. At least no rain!.

Sunday morning saw the new format of a single practice run - unfortunately for the classic classes this occurred just after a short, sharp period of light rain making the track surface very slippery.

The first timed run was taken before lunch (earlier than expected) on a dry track. Conditions were good with several drivers setting new personal best times.

Unfortunately ( as has been so typical this season) the rains returned just as the classic classes were preparing for our second runs. The rain had stopped by the time the runs began but the damage was done....a wet / patchy damp track meant no improvements with a fair few electing not to run at all.

Congratulations to the class winners!

Next round at Curborough in 2 weeks time.

Simon Braithwaite.
