The last meeting of 2018 took place at a cold but sunny Prescott. Mixed with the American themed side events it proved ,as always, to be a lively and entertaining meeting. Lots of off track excursions made progress a little stop-start, but generally things went well for all the Classic championship runners.

Saloon Cars:

A great scrap continued all day between the Mini of Matt Clarke, the Mk1 Escorts of Mark Linforth & Simon Braithwaite and the Scimitar coupe of Trevor Shortt for fastest scratch time. The battle was finally settled on the last run by 0.01 seconds in Simon's favour over Trevor. Mark and Matt were less than half a second further back after some excellent drives. Mark took the class on handicap from Matt then Trevor. Andy Bower took fourth handicap place with his ever improving Capri Mk1.

Matt takes the Saloon car class victory after a very well driven season.

Nick Stephens took fastest overall in this class in his Ginetta from John Newton (TVR Vixen) and Callum Barney (MG Midget). Handicap victory went to Peter Hall in his Lancia Fulvia from Callum then Steve Phennah.

Callum takes the Overall Championship win, thus the Sportscars class is won by Mike Henney in the Lotus Europa.

Single Seaters & Sports Racing Cars:

Once again Peter Thurston proved unstoppable in his very rapid & immaculate Mallock, second fastest was Andy Tippett in the V8 Brabham followed in third by Martin Jones in his twincam powered Brabham. First handicap championship contender was Jeremy Rivers-Fletcher, followed by Les Buck then (i think!) Andy Tippett. There were quite a few non-championship cars in this class on the day making the results a touch tricky!.

Class victor for the year is Les Buck in his Pringlett Mistrale Formula Ford.

Many thanks to all the Marshals , Organisers , Support crews , Helpers & ,of course, Drivers for making the 2018 Season one of the best so far. A very healthy entry was received at most rounds with numbers showing an increase year on year. The Classic series contains some fantastic cars which are a credit to you all. Here's to 2019 !!
