Round 4 - Gurston Down

An incredibly hot day was endured by the Classic competitors at this annual trek to the BARC's great venue. Temperatures of around 30 deg C amazingly took little toll on the machinery with the exception of Peter Joy's lovely alloy bodied Lotus 7 which blew a core plug on the first timed run - at least he got over the finish line to record a respectable time!.

Richard Jones set the pace with some fantastic finish line speeds in his Brabam BT29X to be fastest on scratch by a large margin taking class honours on the day.

Mike Henney was fastest Sportscar with his Ginetta G15. The cars going better all the time with just a few gearshifting bugs to still iron out.

Simon Braithwaite set the fastest Saloon time in the Escort Mk1 with identical timed afternoon runs.

With a break of less than a week the championship now moves to round 5 at Prescott next saturday.
