Round 8 - Harewood

Twelve competitors from the Classic championship travelled to the fantastic Harewood Hillclimb round of the series. Andy Tippett and Matt Clarke took the opportunity of some extra practice on the hot & sunny saturday meeting - watched & 'encouraged' by their fellow drivers as they arrived early for sunday!.

Sunday morning was a stark contrast weather wise with dark clouds , a hint of rain and strong winds. Thankfully the forecast was correct and this cleared as promised leaving a fresh , dry day.

Competition ,as usual ,was fierce with many PB's being set , even in practice. Handicaps were adjusted to suit by Philip Stader.

Richard Jones reset his BOC / Aldon series Harewood record with a 59.01 second run in the Brabham BT29X - a fine effort.

Winners on handicap were Callum Barney in the Cortina GT , Josh Moss in his Centaur BDA single seater & Philip Stader in the rapid MG Midget.

Richard and Martin Jones finished 1:2 with their Brabham single seaters

Mike Henney suffered with a persistent misfire throughout the day in his MG Midget prompting lots of head scratching during the gaps between runs.
