Round 9 - Loton Park

Once again the Loton Park meeting was dominated by decidedly mixed conditions - typical British bank holiday weather I suppose!

A dry first practice run (and beautiful early morning) soon descended into patchy showers which always seemed to strike whilst batch 5 (us!) were on the startline awaiting our runs. This made things interesting to say the least with drivers not quite knowing what they would find as they ascended the tricky Loton Park hill.

Several drivers bettered their handicaps during practice which were then reset to this new time (as per Tim's usual practice at Prescott).

The first timed run saw Brian Ashley (Austin A35) first on the road and the only driver to see a mostly dry track , rain worsening as the field progressed with the final sports / saloon & single seaters all running in full wet conditions.

The second timed run saw a reversal of this with a wet / damp track drying slightly with each passing car, although not enough for most to improve their times substantially. Therefore a slightly mixed set of results for the meeting with some upsets to the usual form book.
