Round 5 of the Bugatti Owners Club FASSI Classic Speed Championship took place at the members meeting at Prescott Speed Hill Climb.

A pretty healthy entry was assembled although once again the numbers were low in the single seater and sports racing class.

Unfortunately the 'Great' British summer weather somewhat let us down with a very challenging wet day of racing. Best conditions were

in the first practice run, with all the other runs compromised on a varyingly wet track surface. The final timed run was the crucial one that really counted but it was run on a damp and drying track - probably the hardest to predict at Prescott with the tree lined section to the esses always difficult in these conditions!.

Saloons were the most numerous class with a very healthy number of runners , even though several entered had withdrawn for various unknown reasons. Matt Clarke was the class of the field in his very well driven Mini - eventually setting the fastest overall time in the championship class!.

Dave Parr scored his first win in the Ford Anglia from the Fiat of Peter Hall with Matt claiming third on handicap to go with his fastest time.

Sportscars was somewhat dominated by the MGB V8 of Charles Boulton, having a very good season so far with 3 out of 3 class wins on handicap.

Second was the well driven Midget of Ben Cross just beating father Tim into third place.

Local man Martin Jones in the pretty Elva Mk7 beat Christopher Wigdor in his Mallock on handicap and scratch times. Unfortunately the class size somewhat limiting the points on offer in the championship this time out.
